A New Design by Ashley Cannon Newell

While blog hopping last week I came upon the wonderful blog of Ashley Cannon Newell. Her cards are just to die for, beautiful embellishments and stitching. After each card there are instructions on how she created it and all the products she used. I just love the rose trim on some of her cards. Ashley is on loads of Design Teams including the wonderful Spellbinders Design Team. Please hop over and visit Ashley HERE.

Meet Karla and The Paper Caper

Hi everyone! I hope you are having a great day. It's Anthonette here to introduce to another one of my favorite inspirational paper crafters. I'd like you to meet Karla Maynard from The Paper Caper. I've been following Karla's work for over 18 months. I first became familiar with her because of Kristina Werner's Color Inspiration challenges. Karla's work is fresh and fun and was in Kristina's Top Picks more than a few times.

Within the last year, Karla and her husband packed up and moved to Islamabad Pakistan. Karla wasn't able to take all her crafting supplies with her, so I'm even more impressed with her work now. She works with less and yet comes up with fantastic designs.

I asked Karla to describe her style. She said:
Living abroad is an adventure and so is being able to find materials. So my style is very simple clean and uncomplicated. I try to use all the bits of materials and papers I have, as well as whatever I can find at home to make a card work. Actually, it doesn't always make it, but it is fun and worth trying.

Here's more of her work. Enjoy.

Please stop by Karla's blog today and tell her you saw her on Inspirational. Thanks and have a good one!

Introducing BlackDragon - something rather different!!

BlackDragon is otherwise known as Lyn. She does very different, gothic and dark pieces, as above, but she also does it with humour very often!! She loves making ATCs, fat books and vintage things, as well as doing many challenges. She has recently joined the Smeared and Smugged DT, which has pleased her no end. She also makes tags, and she can do bright and beautiful too...

She, like all the bloggers shown here, is a very generous crafter, and is helpful and supportive with comments, as well as her valuable time.

These are just some of the wonderful eggs she made for one of her challenges. I love how different and gothic they are, such a great juxtaposition of cutsie egg and odd-ball stamping. And yes, she is a TRUE stamper!!! She does seem to love all ways to do 3D work, as we can see below...

There are other pictures of this one, which is quite intricate, but I think you should visit yourself, to see just how fab!! Her work is so well done, but so off-the-wall at times, just so unusual.

And.... what a sense of humour!!!! I LOVE her blog and I hope you do too. Certainly worth a visit here.

Thanks for looking
Frankie
