Step Forward, Rachel!!

This is a small introduction to Rachel, and her blog at Creative Flight. She is a teacher in Leeds, England - she does not tell us much about herslf in words, but her work speaks to us as it is so sensitive and beautiful. I came upon her blog, by chance, finding the above postcard in a challenge list. I have visited a lot since then, and have derived so much inspiration from it, I just had to share.

This 4x4 is delightful, and I feel as if I have seen this view from the canal. I MUST have the linen-look background stamp she used here!!
I think Rachel is the queen of texture. These examples are great samples of her techniques. This ATC used moulding paste, and she stamped into it. Another super facet of her blog is that she explains to us what she uses and how - SO useful, I think!!

She is brilliant at soft, gentle and dreamy, as above and just as fantastic at brash, bright and full of pattern, as below, where she was working in the style of Teesha Moore - I think she captured it SO well, don't you?

Finally, let me share one more piece with you. Rachel created this lovely butterfly and it just captures her beautiful style and sense of balance and colour. Please go and have a look at her lovely work. These are only pieces from April, so you have loads of treats in store, if you go with time to browse further. ENJOY!!

Love and light
